Fast dial-up - installation

These instructions cover installation of TELUS Fast Dial-up software. Regular dial-up plans do not require installation of this software. Use the following steps to download and install TELUS Fast Dial-up on your computer.

Step 1: Download TELUS Fast Dial-up

Once you have signed up for TELUS Fast Dial-up, download the software from one of the links below. Downloading TELUS Fast Dial-up takes approximately five minutes with a 56 kbps modem.

• Windows version (Windows executable, 970K)
• Mac OS version (Mac OS disk image, 358K)

For Windows

1. Select open when the grey window pops up.
2. Once the wizard launches, follow the prompts.
3. When prompted, enter your TELUS Dial-up Internet user name and password.
4. Your TELUS Fast Dial-up will then be activated.

For Mac OS X

1. Open the disk image. A new volume named "TELUS Fast Dial-up" will appear on your desktop which contains the installer (TELUS Fast Dial-up.pkg).
2. Launch the installer and follow the prompts.
3. When the installation is complete, the TELUS Fast Dial-up application will launch. Enter your TELUS Dial-up Internet user name and password.
4. Your TELUS Fast Dial-up will then be activated.

Step 2: Configure TELUS Fast Dial-up

Fast Dial-up compresses Web images for fast delivery, which results in a lower image quality. With Fast Dial-up software you can:

• Change your image settings.
• Enable faster e-mail downloads.

Configuring Web image quality

Windows

1. Click the TELUS Fast Dial icon in the lower right corner of your computer screen.
2. Select settings and follow the prompts.

Mac OS X

1. Click the TELUS Fast Dial icon in the lower right corner of your computer screen.
2. Select images and follow the prompts.
